The story follows Veronica Chandler, a 19-year-old Albertan detective, as she is sent after a supposedly cheating husband; although, as with most detective stories, all was not as it seemed. In the second book of the series, Veronica was once again forced into a supernatural situation beyond her immediate control.
I tried to come up with a “X meets Y” comparison in attempt to explain how amazing I thought this book was, but it just wasn’t possible. Because Furr is not like anything I’ve read before. It’s fantasy, it’s poetic, it’s descriptive, and it shouldn’t have ended.
I can honestly say that I’ve never read anything quite like From Moon to Joshua. It’s an odd combination of Hunger Games meets the Wild West meets Supernatural.

I found the plot to be intriguing, and there were definitely a lot of cliffhangers to keep me going—I was happy I was able to listen to it in large chunks because I didn’t have to wait to start the next chapter!
The Watch is a wonderful combination of two of my favourite genres: fantasy and crime. The book itself I must classify as fantastical crime, not only because of its fantasy elements—hello, demon in the basement—but also because the book is fantastic.
